Sunset at the Sand Dunes

Our 30-day road trip started off with a bang – literally.  It hailed on us three times in just the first couple hours of driving.  But by the time we reached the St. Anthony Sand Dunes in Idaho, a rainbow lit up the sky and the clouds began to part.  It went from dark to light in the final hour of the day.  Needless to say, we played and played and ran some more until it was dusk.  We found a spot to camp right next to a giant dune and both Bryan and I were pinching ourselves for snagging such an epic spot.  Day one – an overwhelming success!

Two tips: Bring something you can sled down the dunes with.  Although we didn’t, we wished we had.  Also, pack plenty of baby powder to get off the sand that inevitably gets stuck everywhere.
