Snowed in | Sawtooth Mountains, Idaho

Every winter, we aim to take a trip deep into the snowy mountains and dream of getting snowed in.  We have successfully achieved this only one time, where we received three feet of snow in about 24 hours.  So, so fun if you’re prepared for it!  We are partial to exploring backcountry cabins in the Sawtooth Mountain area of Idaho.  Every morning after a hot pot of coffee, we hop on our snowmobiles and head over to the market about 5 miles away to grab snacks for the day.  Then, we would either head to play on the frozen lake nearby or go soak our cold bodies in the local hot springs.  Fires are made multiple times per day, and hot chocolate flows like water.  The evening snuggles are epic.

On our most recent trip, Stella lost her front tooth.  She has a knack for losing teeth in cool places (beach on Kauai, boat near Nantucket, cabin in Idaho, etc.).  Turns out, the tooth fairy pays double when you’re snowed in at a cabin.  😉  She can’t wait to go back.
