Is it possible to work remotely and have the time to enjoy where you are? Overwhelmingly, yes!
.
We’ve taken 2 days “vacation” since being here on Maui and have otherwise focused our energy on making the most of our free time each and every day (of note: a full vacation on Maui is also amazing, but that wasn’t our intention with this trip).
.
TIP #1: Shift your work hours. Start early and end early. That way, your daylight hours will be at one time of the day, and will in turn be more feasible for more substantial adventures.
.
TIP #2: Before arriving, make a list of adventures you’d like to make happen. Take the time to make it a good one, including specifics on gear and location. Once you’re arrived and are in your new rhythm, simply glance at the list and decide what to do based on weather and daylight hours available. Decision fatigue can be a major problem – especially in a new place, so having a general idea of what to do ensures that you won’t get stuck.
.
So whether you’re planning a full blown vacation or are coming to the islands to work remotely, the most important thing is to do what works best for you! Adventure is worth it.
