Kauai. Speaking the mere word leaves me feeling more relaxed. After overloading our lives with work in 2017, we made it a goal to make family adventure travel more of a priority in 2018. Kauai topped the list for places to visit, so we made a quick visit to Google Flights and booked a trip. Bryan had never been to my birth island before and I was ecstatic to be going back.
Kauai also kicked off our plan to take advantage of our location independence, ultimately being able to work from anywhere, and explore the world. We were able to do so much exploring, relaxing, and still get work done at the end of the day. The surfing was some of the best we’ve ever experienced. The people were so hospitable and kind; we instantly felt right at home. What did the kids like most from this trip? It wasn’t the epic surf sessions, or the stunning hikes, or the playdates with the locals at the playground. It was the lizards and bugs. Go figure 😉
