It was a lovely afternoon for a hike around Echo Lake in South Lake Tahoe, California. Just minutes from Tahoe, Echo Lake lies at the foot of the Desolation Wilderness. We hiked towards the end of the lake, and then veered off and scrambled our way to the top of the mountain. Talk about a sweet reward; we could see Echo Lake and Lake Tahoe at the same time! Aria was in love because she had a pup to play with, and we all soaked up this family time in the sunshine.
Echo Lake is really family-friendly and an awesome place to explore! The water is beautiful and the views are inspiring. With it being a short drive from Lake Tahoe (15-30 minutes), it’s certainly worth adding to your to-do list next time you’re headed to the Tahoe area.
